Our ambition is for school uniform to provide a sense of belonging and pride in being part of our school. Our children are expected to wear a representation of our school uniform, but to support all families in accessing good quality clothing, the need for these items to be branded is optional.
We urge that all school kit is clearly labelled. Thank you for your support with this.
What should children wear for school?
Children are expected to wear items from the following list. There are no seasonal restrictions on these items.
- A Sleights jumper or cardigan (blue) OR
- A non-branded blue cardigan or jumper
- A white polo shirt, blouse or shirt
- Grey or black trousers or skirts. Leggings should not be worn
- Blue gingham dresses or grey/black shorts can also be worn. These should not display sports logos
- Smart black shoes should be worn. These should be low heeled. Fully black trainers could also be worn, as an alternative to shoes.
Where can I get uniform?
New, branded uniform can be purchased through the school office, using ParentPay.
In addition to new uniform, we do hold good quality, second hand items in our Sharing Shed too. The Sharing Shed is located on the playground, near the basketball hoop – help yourselves!
Non-branded items can be purchased from a range of local supermarkets and shops. The school does not have a preferred provider of these items.
Can my child wear jewellery or make up?
No jewellery or make up should be worn. This includes any earrings.
What about PE kit?
All children are expected to take part in PE each week and require a named change of clothes in school. Depending on the time of year, children may require an indoor, or outdoor kit.
An indoor kit should include:
- A plain white t shirt (please do not send children in football/team strips)
- Black or navy PE shorts
- Black plimsolls
Children may also bring a warm tracksuit for outdoor kit.
Forest School Kit
Our children benefit from outdoor learning in our own, onsite forest. On most occasions, children will require a separate kit for this. This kit should include old warm clothes and wellingtons (or old shoes), please. There is no preference for style, brand or kit. The most important thing is that the children are able to access the forest school safely.
